My digital SLR camera used to eat alkaline batteries like hogs at the trough; it's frustrating and expensive. The eneloop batteries hold up and I have never had to switch them out during a shoot. The eneloop charger seems to be a little bit slow charging up a set of batteries but I believe the slow charge is purposely gentle to prevent overheating resulting in shortened life. So far none of my eneloop batteries have died with the eneloop charger.
This set is a real bargain at Amazon.Only problem with this new generation of rechargeable batteries. cannot tell you why not specifically but an IT explained this to me. they do not work in every application/ electronic environment. For example, they are not reliable power sources for computer mice -. On the other hand, they do work well in electronic photo flash units.But overall, this is a GREAT deal - a whole lot for the money. An Eneloop 2-battery (AA) set with one charger still sells for $20+ at the major camera stores.Do the math and buy this package while they are available.
Save my money due to so many devices need battery. I dont need to buy more batteries for toys/ game that consume a lot of batteries. ( for example WII Controller, etc). Thank you.
I got Eneloops because I got sick of how fast my Energizer rechargeables lost their charge. I have been very happy with these batteries and now use them in my camera and remote controls. They're fine for things like toys and digital cameras, but totally worthless for remote controls and other things that you expect a battery to last a long time in. Even if I charge them and let them sit around for a couple weeks they somehow drain themselves.So when I heard about rechargeable batteries that retain their charge over time, I just had to try them. In fact, I intend to get a few more AAA's so I can use them in the rest of my remotes and still have a spare set to swap out when they need recharging.This is a great item and I highly recommend it. Their usefulness totally justifies the higher price, in my opinion.
One major drawback is the cost. I've loved Sanyo Eneloop rechargeable batteries for several years now. I think they are a great design -- much more energy efficient and long lasting than other brands. However, this set is a great deal -- it provides a full set of batters, adapters and a recharger all for a reasonable fee. My family loves it.
